I have formally wiped the drive in an effort to repair the bad sectors. During the first year HP will replace a faulty hdd. They would likely also send HP Recovery Discs since they were not made before the hdd developed issues. The hard drive in the 15g is GB and the 15f is GB, and that difference may be important if you plan on using recovery disks to reinstall the operating system. There are times when the recovery disks don't work on a smaller hard drive than what came with the notebook. Sorry, I have been busy with work out of state.
